Originally a fishing village, this village, located near Gravedona and Dongo on the shores of Lake Como and is divided into two small hamlets: Pozzolo and Gaggio. Overlooking the shore you can admire the city of Bellagio in the distance. Moreover, from the banks you can admire the two branches of the lake that separate.
Walking through the steep streets of Domaso we meet the Church of San Bartolomeo, a Baroque style building, certainly the most important religious monument in the city center. Inside are kept, among other things, extraordinary frescoes dating back to the sixteenth century, rich stuccos and Baroque furnishings of the seventeenth century. The main street of Domaso, the Antica Via Regina, is particularly important because in the past it served as a link between Lake Como and Switzerland.
Villa Camilla is a historic building in neoclassical style from the eighteenth century, currently the seat of the municipal building located on the shores of the lake. Along the same shores you can admire the beaches and you can enjoy the beautiful landscape offered by the walk of about 1 km.
To mention the “Pian di Spagna and Lago di Mezzola Nature Reserve“. Birdwatchers will be enchanted by the variety of wildlife in the area. For lovers of hiking in the mountains, the territory offers the opportunity to easily reach the extraordinary peaks that surround the lake along the many paths immersed in the lush local nature.
